Legal notice

Service provider

CVMatch (also presented as “CVMatch Swiss”) is a service operated by P-Tron Tech, a sole proprietorship under Swiss law registered in the commercial register of the canton of Zug (Switzerland).

The website cvmatch.io, the web app cvmatch.io/analysis and the CVMatch mobile apps (Android and iOS) together form “the service”.

Contact

For any question, request about your data or complaint: by e-mail to support@cvmatch.io, or from your CVMatch account, Settings → Feedback & Support (your account is then identified without you having to type your details again).

Requests are handled within 30 days at most.

Hosting

Application servers: Google Cloud (Cloud Run), region europe-west1 (Belgium). Database and file storage: Supabase, hosted in the European Union.

Intellectual property

The CVMatch brand, logo, texts, visuals and code of the service belong to P-Tron Tech. Any reproduction or reuse without written permission is prohibited. Third-party names and logos (App Store, Google Play, jobs.ch, jobup.ch, etc.) belong to their respective owners.

Terms of use and sale

1. Scope and acceptance

These terms govern access to the CVMatch service and the purchase of analyses. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. If you disagree with any of them, do not use the service.

2. Account

The service is for people aged 16 or over. You can create an account with an e-mail address or with a Google account.

  • The information you provide must be accurate and kept up to date.
  • An account is personal: one person per account, and you are responsible for whatever is done with your credentials.
  • Tell us without delay if your account is used without your permission.

3. What the service does

CVMatch compares your CV with a job advert and gives you a compatibility score, a detailed analysis, improvement advice and a draft cover letter. The service also offers a catalogue of job adverts from clearly identified third-party sources (for example jobs.ch, jobup.ch or employers' career sites); the “Apply” button always takes you to the original advert.

The results are produced by artificial intelligence. They are indicative: they may contain errors or approximations, are not professional advice and guarantee neither an interview nor a job. You alone remain responsible for the applications you send and the documents you use. Always proofread a generated letter before sending it.

4. Free analyses, packs and prices

Every account receives 5 free analyses per month. They are reset each month and do not carry over from one month to the next.

You can buy analysis packs (for example 10, 30 or 100 analyses). A pack is a one-off purchase: there is no subscription and no automatic renewal. The applicable price, including taxes, is the one displayed at the time of purchase, in the currency shown. One analysis uses one credit.

On the website, payment is processed by Stripe; in the mobile apps, by Google Play or the App Store. Those platforms apply their own terms to payment processing. Purchased credits remain available for as long as your account exists.

5. Withdrawal and refunds

By buying a pack, you ask for the analyses to be available immediately and accept that the right of withdrawal no longer applies to analyses already used.

Credits from a pack that are not yet used can be refunded on request within 14 days of purchase, through the purchase channel: to the original payment method for a Stripe purchase, and under the procedures of Google Play or the App Store for an in-app purchase. Refunded credits are removed from the account. After 14 days, or for credits already used, no refund is due, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

6. Partner programme

Content creators may apply to join the CVMatch partner programme. Admission is by application; the applicable conditions (commission rate, discount for followers, payout delay and threshold) are communicated in the partner area upon acceptance and may be changed for the future. The following are prohibited: purchases made by the partner or people close to them to generate a commission, unsolicited canvassing and any misleading presentation of the service. A breach ends participation and forfeits commissions not yet paid out.

7. Acceptable use

  • Only upload documents you hold the rights to; do not upload a third party's personal data without permission.
  • Do not use the service for unlawful, deceptive or discriminatory purposes.
  • Do not try to bypass technical limits, access other accounts' data, disrupt the service or extract its content in bulk (including the job catalogue).
  • Do not resell the service or use it to train or feed a competing service.

8. Your content and our rights

Your CVs, texts and results remain yours. You only grant us the right to process them to provide the service (storage, analysis, document generation) and, if you have expressly agreed in the settings, to improve our analyses. That consent is separate and can be withdrawn at any time.

The service itself (software, templates, interface, brand) is protected by copyright and remains the property of P-Tron Tech. The documents generated for you may be used freely for your job search.

9. Availability, suspension and end of the service

We do our best to keep the service available at all times but cannot guarantee it (maintenance, incidents, dependence on third-party providers). We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, after a warning where circumstances allow.

If the service were to close, you would be informed with reasonable notice and unused paid credits would be refunded.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, P-Tron Tech's liability is limited to direct damages and to the amount you paid for the service in the last twelve months. This limitation does not apply in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor to mandatory consumer-protection rules.

11. Changes to these terms

We may adapt these terms, for instance when the service or the law changes. The version in force is always published on this page with its date. You will be informed in the app of any significant change; continuing to use the service after it takes effect counts as acceptance.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is Zug (Switzerland). If you live in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence and the right to bring proceedings before its courts. The European Commission provides an online dispute-resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Privacy policy

Data controller

P-Tron Tech, Zug (Switzerland), is the controller of your personal data under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for people located in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact: support@cvmatch.io or, in the app, Settings → Feedback & Support.

Data we process

  • Account: e-mail address, account identifier, display name when provided by your Google sign-in, language and preferences.
  • Content: the CVs you upload, the job adverts you paste, the analyses and letters generated, your favourites and tracked applications.
  • Purchases: transaction identifier, pack bought, amount, date and channel (Stripe, Google Play, App Store). We never receive or store your card number.
  • Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, security logs, timestamps.
  • Support: the messages you send us and the account information that accompanies them.

Why, and on what basis

  • Providing the service (performance of the contract): creating your account, analysing your documents, showing your results, managing your credits and purchases, answering you.
  • Security and fraud prevention (legitimate interest): protecting accounts, detecting abuse and uses contrary to the terms.
  • Legal obligations: keeping accounting records, answering requests from competent authorities.
  • Improving our analyses from your CVs (consent): only if you switch it on in the settings; can be withdrawn at any time without affecting the rest of the service.
  • We do not sell your data and do not run targeted advertising.

Processors and transfers abroad

We use providers that process data on our behalf, bound by contract:

  • Supabase — database, authentication and file storage (European Union).
  • Google Cloud — running the service's servers (Belgium); Google — sign-in with a Google account and purchases via Google Play; Apple — purchases via the App Store.
  • OpenAI — generating the analyses and letters. The text of your CV and of the advert is sent to it to produce the result; it may be processed outside Switzerland and the EU, notably in the United States, on the basis of the standard contractual clauses recognised by the FDPIC and the European Commission. Under our contractual terms with this provider, your content is not used to train its models.
  • Stripe — payment on the website (Stripe processes your payment data as an independent controller, under its own policy).
  • The job boards the adverts come from (for example jobs.ch, jobup.ch) receive no data from your account: when you click “Apply”, you are simply redirected to the original advert, with a parameter indicating that the visit comes from CVMatch.

Retention periods

  • CVs, adverts, analyses and letters: until you delete them, or until your account is deleted.
  • Account data: until the account is deleted.
  • Purchase records: 10 years (Swiss accounting obligation).
  • Technical logs: 90 days at most, unless there is a proven security need.

Your rights

You may request access to your data, its rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, object to processing based on legitimate interest and withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your CVs yourself in the app; full deletion of the account is requested by e-mail to support@cvmatch.io or via Settings → Feedback & Support and carried out within 30 days.

If you believe your rights are not respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Switzerland or the supervisory authority of your country of residence in the EU.

Security

Encrypted communications (TLS) and encryption at rest, private CV storage accessible only to your account, restricted and logged server-side access, separation of test and production environments. No system is infallible: in the event of a data breach likely to affect you, we will inform you and the competent authority as required by law.

Minors

The service is not intended for people under 16. If an account was created by someone under 16, it will be deleted on request.

Changes

This policy may change. The dated version in force is always available on this page; significant changes are announced in the app.
